This year’s festival season will be here before you know it
and with big names like Coachella, Hangout, and Firefly already selling out, I
want to make sure you don’t think that you have to travel out of the Tar Heel State to experience all the fun of a music festival. Grab some friends and
check out some of these upcoming local festivals:
Art of Cool could be the festival I’m most excited about
as it's the first of its kind in Durham. The two-day mega music festival
will feature legendary Jazz performers including Maceo Parker and Miguel
Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble. This indoor/outdoor fest will take place at different
venues throughout the Bull City and will take place on Friday, April 25 and
Saturday, the 26th.
Triangle Beach Music Festival-The 16th annual TBMF
will take place on April 26. An amazing event at Bryan Farm in Garner that
brings out people of all ages. Attendees are able to shag the day away under
the Carolina blue sky at this all day celebration.
Hopscotch Music Festival-Hopscotch always brings an
impressive list of bands from a variety of genres to Raleigh. This year, the music festival starts on
September 4th for music lovers, but just last week, coordinators
announced the addition of the inaugural Design Festival to kickoff on
Wednesday, September 3rd.
