3 Notable Natives

The North Carolina-born musicians that caused the most buzz within the past few years or so would probably have to be The Avett Brothers. These guys are from Concord, NC and have produced some significantly popular albums, starting with their 2009 record, I And Love And You. But did you know the Triangle has produced some notable musicians as well? Here are some of the most noteworthy:

1. James Taylor
James Taylor is an incredibly well-known singer/songwriter and guitarist, from our very own Chapel Hill. The man has won five Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He'll be back in the Triangle on August 2nd at Walnut Creek - don't miss it! 

2. Ben Folds
Ben folds is a singer/songwriter known for being the front man for Ben Folds Five and for his solo work. He too is a Chapel Hill native and continues to make awesome, feel-good music. Ben Folds was inducted in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2011. 

3. Spencer Chaimberlain
Mr. Chaimberlain, yet another product of Chapel Hill, is best known for his lead vocals for the beloved metalcore band, Underoath. And I have to admit that I was quite the fan in my middle school days. But sadly, Underoath announced their Farewell Tour last year and have decided to give their voice boxes a rest.
