3 Raleigh Venues to Catch a FREE Live Show

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

With so many options in the Triangle area, going to shows can do some serious damage on your wallet after some time. This week, we'll feature three places in Raleigh where you can catch a live show (and do some other activities) for no charge.

Now, this venue doesn't always have free live shows. They have a ton of shows on their calendar, many of them very cheap, charging tickets $12 and well under for tickets. However, if you frequent their calendar page, you can scope out the upcoming shows you can see for free. Not to mention, this venue has a quality beer list and is the oldest music venue in NC...pretty cool.

The Oxford's tagline is MEET. EAT. DRINK. So, if it's still unclear, this venue is perfect for meeting up with a group of friends for a drink, or perhaps something to eat, that should alleviate any concerns. And to add the experience, almost every Friday and Saturday night, there's a live show. They book a lot of local bands out of Raleigh and there's always an energetic crowd on the weekends. Live music is highlighted with red on their calendar.

3. 42nd St Oyster Ball
If you're looking for a more casual, relaxed atmosphere and you're a fan of seafood, this is a great place to watch some live music. 42nd St. books local bands as well, and offers a live show on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10:00. Check out the calendar to see who is playing!
